Assessment in Blended and Online Learning - OPL Facilitated Course

(CORRECT DATE: April 2, 2012 - May 13, 2012 - 6 weeks, 2-4 hrs/week)

 This course is for teachers who wish to expand their expertise in creating effective assessment of and for learning in the context of online, blended, and distributed learning environments. Participants come prepared with a course or a D2L shell in which they can use to build quizzes, assignments and self-assessment activities. Online and distributed pedagogical knowledge, skills, and strategies for assessment will be explored in-depth. During the course, teachers will design a student activity that can integrate the use of assessment tools such as quizzes, self-assessment, journal, ePortfolio, rubrics and grades.

  • Build on their understanding of assessment for and of learning in online, blended, and distributed learning environments
  • Designing assessments that actively engages learners
  • Explore a range of formative and summative assessment strategies
  • Explore ways to increase student voice and participation in their learning

 

Note: This is an online course. Participants are encouraged to attend the weekly BlackboardCollaborate/Elluminate sessions to help develop community and deeper understanding of the course content. You will receive an email a few days before the course begins.
